Since 1941, the Civil Air Patrol has watched the skies of America, flying missions on behalf of the United States Air Force, as well as lifesaving organizations such as the Red Cross. Whether it's performing a search and rescue mission or providing disaster relief to an area struck by a hurricane, the Civil Air Patrol is able and vigilant, ready to assist the nation in times of need.

The Civil Air Patrol is a nonprofit organization with over 64,000 members in the United States and its territories. It performs 95% of the inland search and rescue operations in the continental United States. Tyndall Panama Composite Squadron 435 is called a composite squadron because it is made up of both cadet members and senior members.
