Tyndall Panama Composite Squadron

Air Force Armament Museum & Hurlburt Field Visit

On 29 January, 2005 the cadets of the Tyndall Panama Composite Squadron took their meeting out of the classroom and out to Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field. At Eglin the cadets toured the Air Force Armament Museum which features a variety of munitions, historic artifacts, and static aircraft displays celebrating the rich history of Air Force aviation from the Wright Brothers to the MOAB.

While there, two cadets were promoted in recognition of their recent academic accomplishments, three cadets were recognized for rapid completion of the learning objectives for the visit, and everyone learned something.

Cadets discussed several examples of leadership, valor, and integrity using the examples Medal of Honor recipients. The wide variety of aircraft on display made learning about the complexities of the aerospace environment exciting.

In the afternoon the Squadron continued on to Hurlburt Field where they were treated to a brief glimpse of the hardware and facilities used by the Air Force's elite special operators as well as a number of the airframes that their predecesors used to do their jobs in conflicts from World War II through Desert Storm.
