Assistant Education & Training Officer

Reports to:  FLWG/A1 – Deputy Chief of Staff for Manpower, Personnel, and Services

Unit:  SER-FL-001

Reviewing Official:  A1, Chief of Staff

Who May Apply:
Active members of Florida Wing. If you don’t meet the requirements stated below, you may still apply, and be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Wing Director of Education and Training in ensuring the training meets the needs of the Wing staff.
• Assist with the planning and coordinating of trainings, specifically, Level IV and V.
• Plan, organize, and instruct at training courses.
• Assist the Wing Director of Education and Training with developing an annual training calendar.
• Review Wing staff training records to determine accurate training for assigned duty position.
• Assist the Wing Director of Education and Training with coordination with Group level Education and Training Officers.
• Other duties as determined by the Director of Education and Training and/or Wing Deputy Chief of Staff/A1.

CAP Directives:
The Director of Personnel should be familiar with the following directives:

• CAPR 40-1 and 40-7
• CAPP 40-40

Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade of Captain/ Technical Sergeant or above.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and working in a Windows environment.
• Very strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.
• A highly professional demeanor, positive outlook, and a can-do attitude.
• Five years of total CAP membership.
• Reside within the Wing. Infrequent, temporary absences of short duration are permissible.
• Hold a Senior Rating in Education & Training (or Professional Development).

Desired Qualifications:

• Grade of Major/Master Sergeant or above.
• Completed Level III or above.
• Be assigned as a Volunteer University Instructor
• Two years of experience as an education and training officer at the Group level.

Selection criteria are based on Civil Air Patrol training, experience, and participation, as well as civilian education and experience related to the position.
