Deputy Chief of Staff - A4

Who May Apply:

Active members of Florida Wing. If you don’t meet the requirements stated below, you may still apply, and be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Supervise all staff in the A4 directorate to include supply, logistics, etc. and ensure compliance with all regulations.

· Serve as a mentor to all staff within the A4 directorate.

· Responsible for preparing and annual performance evaluations on all staff within the directorate.

· Facilitate the distribution of Wing assets in conjunction with other Deputy Chiefs of Staff.

· Other duties as determined by the Wing Chief of Staff.

CAP Directives:

The Deputy Chief of Staff/A4 should be familiar with the following directives:

· CAPR 66-1

· CAPR 70-1

· CAPR 77-1

· CAPR 123-3

· CAPR 173-3

· CAPR 174-1

· CAPP 203

Minimum Qualifications:

· Grade of Captain/ Technical Sergeant or above.

· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and working in a Windows environment.

· Very strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.

· A highly professional demeanor, positive outlook, and a can-do attitude.

· Five years of total CAP membership

· Reside within the Wing. Infrequent, temporary absences of short duration are permissible

· Hold a Senior Rating in Logistics

Desired Qualifications:

· Grade of Major/Master Sergeant or above.

· Completed Level III or above.

· Two years of experience as a logistics officer at the Group level.

· Professional resume.

· Unit Commander’s Endorsement.

Applicants may be asked for a personal or telephonic interview. Upon notification, a mutually convenient time and place will be arranged. Inquiries concerning specific aspects of the duty position should be directed to the Reviewing Official.

Selection criteria are based on Civil Air Patrol training, experience, and participation, as well as civilian education and experience related to the position.
