External Aerospace Officer

External Aerospace Education Officer

Reports to:  FLWG/A5AE – Aerospace Education Director

Unit:  SER-FL-001

Reviewing Official:  A5, Chief of Staff


Who May Apply:

Active members of Florida Wing. If you don’t meet the requirements stated below, you may still apply, and be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the External Aerospace Education program.

  • Implement the Aerospace Education Program for Senior Members.

  • Encourage senior members to take the Yeager Test.

  • Encourage senior members to participate in the Aerospace Education (AE) Specialty Track.

  • Review AE Plan of Action and determine a schedule for AE activities.

  • Encourage unit participation in the voluntary Model Rocketry Program.

  • Develop special aerospace education activities for members.


CAP Directives:

The External Aerospace Education Officer should be familiar with the following directives:

  • CAPR 50-1

  • CAPP 50-1

  • CAPP 50-2

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Grade of Captain / Technical Sergeant or above.

  • Technician rating in the Aerospace Education (AE) Specialty Track.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, and working in a Windows environment.

  • Very strong organizational skills and extreme attention to detail.

  • A highly professional demeanor, positive outlook, and a can-do attitude.

  • Reside within the Wing. Infrequent, temporary absences of a short duration are permissible.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Grade of Major / Master Sergeant or above.

  • Master rating in the Aerospace Education (AE) Specialty Track.

  • Completed Level III or above.

  • Two years experience as Logistics Officer at the Group level.

Applicants may be asked for a personal or telephonic interview. Upon notification, a mutually convenient time and place will be arranged. Inquiries concerning specific aspects of the duty position should be directed to the Reviewing Official.

Selection criteria are based on Civil Air Patrol training, experience, and participation, as well as civilian education and experience related to the position.
