FLESA
FLWG Emergency Services Academy
Avon Park Air Force Range
(26 December 2022 to 2 January 2023)
Winter FLESA Director: Capt Chris Krier
DESCRIPTION
Winter FLESA 2022 will be based around the basics of Ground Team and UDF training. Emphasizing the skills needed to both qualify and be proficient in both of those disciplines. This session will include first aid training as well as the practical portion of ICUT. We will spend a lot of time in the field sharpening the skills that will be taught during the academy and finishing up with a multi day final scenario based exercise. You will learn how distress beacons work. How to locate and document them. How to search for the missing in both wilderness and urban environments. Practical use of first aid skills will be emphasized during all scenarios and you will feel comfortable with being part of real world missions once completing this course.
Schools to be offered this session include Basic Ground (UDF and GTM3), Advanced Ground School (GTM2 and 1) Mission Base school for MRO and MSA, possibly some IMT positions as well(TBA) The use of Avon Park allows us more extensive outdoor facilities and activities and is the original home of FLESA.
We are currently looking for instructors to assist with all the listed schools, if interested, please send email to Capt Chris Krier at Christopher.krier@flwg.cap.gov.
