Please read the information below before registering to answer frequently asked questions.


DESCRIPTION
Cadets who attend the Fall FLA will find the instruction to greatly help them when performing leadership roles at their home squadrons and at other CAP activities. Serving on Encampment staff provides a perfect opportunity for cadets to practice the lessons learned from the FLA. Cadets who intend on applying for Encampment staff are highly encouraged to attend the Fall FLA in order to begin developing their leadership abilities. You will learn the lessons needed to serve at any CAP event and this will weigh heavily when staff are being chosen for the next encampment.

The following courses are offered, you should register in accordance with your current grade.

Non Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA)

Cadet Commander Course (CCC)                                       

FEES AND REGISTRATION

The activity fee is $80.00 for each participant. The fee covers all course expenses including activity t-shirt, lunch, and materials. Payment must be made online. All meals for Saturday and Breakfast for Sunday are covered.

Also includes an activity T-Shirt. Student registration must be completed on our electronic registration system:  

  • Make certain you have your form 160 and form 161 printed, signed and scanned prior to filling out the online registration.  

  • Bring hard copies of all your forms with you to the activity.

  • Forms needed to upload through the "Registration Link" - see forms on RIGHT hand column (if NOT able to send via link, send to cpforms@flwgcap.us).

NCO Academy (NCOA) Student Applicants.

Applicants must have completed their Basic Encampment. This is for cadets with the grade of C/SrA through C/TSgt at the time of application. Cadets not meeting these requirements will not be considered for this course. The choices will be weighted heavily with previous FLA instructor experience, FLWG Encampment experience and teaching ability. Do NOT complete the online registration form unless you've been selected for staff.

SNCO Academy (SNCOA) Student Applicants.

Applicants must have completed their Basic Encampment. This is for cadets with the grade of C/MSgt through C/CMSgt at the time of application. Cadets that promote to C/MSgt after registration will take the NCOA. Cadets not meeting these requirements will not be considered for this course.

Cadet Command Course (CCC) Student Applicants.

This is for cadets with the grade of C/2d Lt and above at the time of application.

Cadetlnstructor Applicants

For consideration as a cadet instructor, cadets must have earned the Earhart Award(C/Capt) or higher to instruct the CCC academy. Cadets must have earned the Mitchell award or higher to instruct the SNCO academy. Cadets must have earned the rank of CMSgt or higher to instruct the NCO academy. Instructors must have previously staffed an encampment as line staff.

Senior Class Advisor Applicants.

For consideration as a senior instructor, seniors should have earned the Senior Rating in Cadet Programs or have extensive cadet programs experience. CAP experience external to the Cadet Program as well as professional experience outside of CAP may be considered for selection.

Applicants will email cpforms@flwgcap.us with a description of their desired position along with their CAP Resume. Do NOT complete the online registration form unless you've been selected for staff.

Senior Staff Applicants.  

Senior staff applicants should have previous experience working in cadet programs activities at the group or wing level and be able to assist in administrative and logistics capacities for the activity. A current CAP driver’s license is also recommended.

Senior Student Applicants

Senior Training Officers as well as new senior members are encouraged to attend. We will focus on the aspects of encampment and working on how to mentor the cadet cadre in their roles and responsibilities during the encampment.


DATES AND DEADLINES
Activity Date:       18 November to 20 November

24 October 2022         Instructor and staff applications due (senior and cadet)
1 November 2022       Student applications due
30 November 2022     Refund request deadline for guaranteed refund

Full refunds will be available until the suspense date and may be requested via the online refund request form. Requests for refunds after the suspense date will be based upon the activities ability to replace the paid for slot. Refund requests may take as long as 90 days after the end of the activity to process.

If you request a refund and have received no communication from the activity staff by 2 months with information pertaining to the refund request, please e-mail the activity director to ensure your request was received and is being processed.

UNIFORMS

All members will arrive in blue jeans and a tan T-shirt or CAP activity shirt. Academy shirts will be distributed upon arrival. Saturday will start in ABUS with the academy T-shirt, civilian clothes will be permitted when class is finished for the day. Sunday's UOD will be in class B blues uniform.

Students will be in short sleeves with all ribbons and without tie. Senior Members will follow 1he same uniform of the day structure. Saturday will be a utility uniform (ABU, Corporate Utility or Working Uniform). Sunday's UOD will be in class B blues uniform, or Corporate White Aviator. Students will be in short sleeves with all ribbons and without tie.

ABU's will be needed for this event.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Staff :            1600
Students:      1800 - 2000

Graduation:  

A graduation ceremony will be held in the camp pavilion beginning at 1200 on 20 Nov 2022. Parking is available for no charge. Students will be dismissed following the graduation ceremony. There will not be a reception prior to the graduation therefore all guests for graduation are asked to plan their arrival to the facility no earlier than 1130.
