DESCRIPTION

Encampments are week-long activities that serve to build a foundation for the cadets from which to build their Civil Air Patrol (CAP) experience.  These week-long events provide in-depth orientation to Civil Air Patrol and the United States Air Force.  First-time cadets can expect to be mentally and physically challenged during a busy, exciting week of hands-on leadership development training and aerospace events.  An Advanced Training Squadron (ATS) will be offered to cadets who have already attended their first encampment but are looking for new challenges.  Cadets returning as staff will be challenged even further through the leadership roles they will fill and the staff duties they will perform.  All cadets will have the opportunity to be introduced to the military, learn to overcome challenges, develop time-management skills, enhance their interpersonal skills, and have a great time.

Excerpts from the operations order are shown below to help members register, pay, and get the most frequently asked-for information. Read the operations order posted on the menu to the right for detailed information.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to attend the encampment as a first-time student, cadets must have completed the Curry Achievement and have been promoted to Cadet Airman (C/Amn) before application submission.

Cadets who apply for staff and are not selected will have the first opportunity to enroll in the Advanced Training Squadron. Cadets who do not wish to staff but want to apply for ATS will complete the Cadet Student application and select ATS.

Cadet cadre applicants must have earned the Wright Brothers Award (C/SSgt) and posted in eServices before application submission. Cadet Encampment Assistance Program

Thanks to Air Force support, CAP has special funding available this year to cover encampment fees, uniforms, and other costs associated with our encampment program, with an emphasis on serving economically disadvantaged cadets. This application can be accessed via the "Cadet Programs" module on eServices. Please see the National CEAP page for more information, including detailed application instructions. Please note the FLWG staff has no access to a cadet's application nor are we able to check the status of an application. If you are applying for CEAP, please do not register until you get a response. If your CEAP application is accepted, please email the Administration Officer at flencampmentadmin@flwgcap.us  with a copy of the email indicating acceptance of CEAP application for a fee waiver.

Student Early Arrival Fee

First-time cadets arriving at the encampment before the designated arrival time for first-time cadets are subject to the early arrival fee of $50.00. This fee covers the additional food and logistics costs associated with the extra days at encampment that are not covered in the regular encampment rate for basic cadets. Cadet students are highly encouraged not to arrive early.

Payment Methods

In accordance with FLWGP 200-2, Florida Wing Financial Management Procedures, payments shall only be made online via Eventbrite, money order, or Wing Banker transfer. Eventbrite is the preferred method. Please take a look at the order of the operations order for money order instructions. If you're registering as a student, payment will be part of the registration process. If you're applying for a staff position, wait to pay until you've been confirmed as staff.
